Blanchard Schools Issues Alert Following Strange Calls

A scare Thursday had Blanchard Middle School on lockdown, after the school and the high school received several phone calls during the past few days. 

Police say a woman started calling both schools on Tuesday.  She wouldn’t identify herself, but said a female middle school student was supposed “to take the bus home.”   The girl and her parents have been notified.  

“They were just very specific about the name of the child, but we have other information we are building, our basic goal right now is to find out what the motivation is, was this an intentional crime being committed,” said Blanchard Police Chief Stacey White. 

Blanchard Schools Superintendent Dr. Jim Beckham says his staff is monitoring the situation.
