Ewertz told police they were drinking at the bar when they got into a fight. When they returned home, they continued to argue. She said she tried to leave, but the victim grabbed a gun and told her the only way she would leave was in a body bag.
Ewertz said she was able to take the magazine of the handgun and ran out to her vehicle to leave. She said she got into her car and locked the doors. But the victim followed her out and began banging on the driver’s window, telling her to get out.

Ewertz told police that the victim then jumped onto the top of the car and began banging on the hood. She said she stopped the car and told the victim to get off, but the victim refused. That’s when she stepped on gas and watched the victim roll off the back of her car.
Ewertz claims she saw the victim stand up through her rear view mirror. So she drove away to put gas in her car.
Police said the victim sustained head trauma.
