All day long people have been driving by and noticing a sign placed in front of Chappelwood Financial Services in Edmond, and many of them have pulled over to get their own copy of the sign to show their support for police.
Joe and Jeanette Spears were just two of the many people who stopped by to pick up a sign to put in their front lawn. They picked up one for their neighbors too.
“We are deeply concerned about the direction of our nation,” said Joe Spears. “And we think the police dept. needs support.”
Several Edmond officers also came by to personally thank business owner Victoria Woods for creating the pro police signs, including the police chief himself.
“I want to see them in every neighborhood, I want to see them in every business I want to see them everywhere,” said Woods.
And she seems to be getting her wish.
A News 9 crew drove by the Fox Lake neighborhood located nearby and noticed signs already proudly displayed in people's front yards. In fact, Woods has already ordered several more signs to meet the demand of people all over the metro wanting to show their support for local law enforcement.
“If you consider the circumstances they put up with who would want to do it really,” said Spears, who made sure to thank officers for their service. “And I think they deserve merit and all the appreciation we can give them that's why we're here.”
If you'd like to get one of those signs, contact Chappelwood Financial Services, located on 15th Street between Coltrane and Bryant. You can call during business hours, or just stop by.
But just a warning, it may take a couple days to fill the demand.
