Oklahoma City may soon be adding to its rules of the road.
Officers have a target on your turn signal under the latest traffic law ordinance presented to City Council on Tuesday.
The ordinance would require drivers to keep their turn signals on for at least 100 feet before changing lanes.
“I think it will be enforced,” said OCPD Chief Bill Citty, who also said his officers see a number of lane change violations by drivers.
There already is a similar state law, but Citty says a city ordinance is needed to enforce the law in OKC.
OKC City Council is expected to vote on the issue on Sept. 1.
On Monday, a proposal to adopt the state’s new texting-while-driving ordinance was also presented.
