Police arrested a 16-year-old teenager accused of punching a police officer at Northpark Mall in Oklahoma City, late Monday night.
According to police, at about 11:50 p.m. Monday, security guards saw two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, trespassing in the area.
When officers arrived, they found out the 16-year-old suspect had an outstanding warrant and tried to take him into custody. That's when police said the teenager punched the officer several times. Both suspects then ran away from the scene.
Officers went to the 17-year-old suspect's home and spoke with his mother, who allowed officers inside. They found both suspects inside the home.
The 16-year-old suspect was arrested on complaints of assault and battery on a city official and obstructing an officer. He had a Berry House warrant for second-degree burglary.
The 17-year-old suspect was arrested on complaints of harboring a fugitive and obstructing an officer.
