Crescent Homeowner Gets More Than Rumblings From 4.5-Magnitude Earthquake

A homeowner in Crescent says the 4.5-magnitude earthquake that stuck there at about 1:10 p.m. Monday is something he will never forget. 

Steven Johnson said he was walking from his garage into his home when the house started to shake. 

He showed News 9 how the impact knocked pictures from the walls and damaged other walls. 

It also damaged four large columns that stand in front of a house he bought just four months ago.

“You think it will never happen to you, but it happened,” he said. 

Johnson’s mother Regine has been staying with him, but was out running errands when it happened.

“I was just so shocked,” she said as she cried. “He just bought the house, and it’s hard to take.”
