Foster parents are losing out on a way to get their children the clothes they need.
Budget cuts have forced Department of Human Services of do away with its clothing voucher program.
DHS blames a $45 million budget cut for getting rid of its clothing voucher program, except to a handful of exceptions.
News 9 spoke a parent who said she'll miss the $50 to $90 vouchers that can be used every 90 days.
Foster parent Kia Shiever said the money had been a big help because her two foster children came with very little clothing and pretty much nothing they could wear during the summer.
“There are so many things that foster parents need, more resource in Oklahoma. Whenever they take away the clothing vouchers that’s a huge hit, huge hit,” Shiever said.
DHS said the clothing vouchers are going away, but foster parents will be receiving more money per day.
Despite budget cut, foster parents will be getting raises for the third time in three years.
