Cleveland County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a Norman man suspected of burglarizing a home and stealing a vehicle from the residence last week.

Jesse Soza, 28, of Norman, was booked in the Cleveland County Detention Center on July 9 on 10 complaints, including second-degree burglary, larceny of auto, three counts of knowingly concealing stolen property, two counts of unauthorized use of credit card, reckless conduct with a firearm, possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony and pattern of criminal behavior.

According to the Sheriff's office, Soza is suspected of burglarizing a home in the 4200 block of 180th Avenue SE on July 8 and stealing a 2009 Chevrolet Impala from the residence.

About 11 a.m. July 8, the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office was notified about the stolen vehicle and burglary. The resident alerted the sheriff’s office about the crime after returning home to hear someone inside the house.

The victim walked to a neighbor’s driveway to call for help but left the vehicle keys behind. Authorities said two suspects only described as a male and female then took the victim’s car.

About 11 a.m. July 9, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper spotted Soza driving the 2009 red Chevrolet Impala near I-35 and Highway 9 in McClain County. The trooper stopped the vehicle and detained Soza until CCSO detectives arrived.

Investigators took Soza into custody for questioning. In addition to the July 8 burglary case, authorities said Soza is a suspect in several open investigations.

Detectives have processed the Impala and a red 2008 Buick that was found parked a short distance from the burglarized residence Wednesday. The Buick was reported stolen to CCSO on July 5. Witnesses reported seeing Soza and an unidentified female near the vehicle shortly before the July 8th burglary.

Formal charges against Soza are pending in Cleveland County District Court. The investigation is on-going. Deputies said more arrests are possible.

Detectives urge anyone who has information about this case or Soza’s activities, to call CCSO at (405) 701-8888, Tip Line at (405) 701-8870 or Crime Stoppers at (405) 701-8872.
