Oklahoma City police then issued a Silver Alert for McKinnon just before 10 p.m.
News 9 photojournalist Michael Johnston said just before 11 p.m., he noticed a silver Honda Accord sitting at the intersection of Rockwell and Memorial not moving. The car eventually headed south down Rockwell from Memorial. Johnston said he read the license plate and realized it was the car involved in the Silver Alert.
Johnston said he followed the driver until she pulled into the shopping center at N.W. 122nd and Rockwell. That's when Johnston approached the driver and informed her that people were looking for her.
Johnston said he stayed with McKinnon until Oklahoma City police and family members arrived.
