Deck McGuire pitched 6 2/3 innings and only allowed one run as the Oklahoma City Dodgers breezed past the Salt Lake Bees, 6-1 on Tuesday night.
Corey Seager got the scoring started with a solo home run in the top of the first inning. Oklahoma City added two more runs in the top of the second to seize a 3-0 lead.
Alfredo Marte led off the bottom of the fifth with a homer to put Salt Lake on the board and cut the deficit to two runs, but that's all the Bees could manage on Tuesday.
Oklahoma City broke it open in the top of the seventh. Brian Ward blasted a solo shot to make the lead 4-1, then Seager struck again, launching his second homer of the game, this one a two-run shot, to vault OKC to a 6-1 advantage.
The Dodgers (31-13) play Game 3 of the four-game set in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
