The City of Oklahoma City released its preliminary damage assessment Saturday from the May 6 storms. City officials said the storms surveyed a 70 square-mile area south of Oklahoma City.

The final numbers are likely to change as the city finalizes its assessment, according to a press release.

City officials said teams also spotted storm debris at an additional 50 locations.
The preliminary damage assessment is reportedly an early step toward an eventual request for disaster relief funds.
