An earthquake shook up residents near Caldwell, Kansas, late Wednesday afternoon.
The 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 3:57 p.m.
Its epicenter was located seven miles south of Caldwell, 33 miles west northwest of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and 38 miles north northeast of Enid at a depth of just over two miles.
No injuries or damages associated with the earthquake have been reported.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
