'Outdoor Oklahoma' To Feature News 9 Meteorologist Lacey Swope

This whole thing is kind of surreal, because my family and I have watched Outdoor Oklahoma for as long as I can remember. I was approached over a year ago by producers of the show and asked if they could follow me around for a while. 

My first thought was "why in the world would you want to do that?!" I kept telling them I live a very ordinary, and somewhat boring life, but it would be an honor to be on the show. 

As a proud Okie, I love seeing how other Oklahomans enjoy the the outdoors! Our state has so many amazing things to offer!

The crew dedicated a lot of their time to filming me forecast, filming me on-air, and filming me hunt and fish. I am so very thankful to all of their hard work and dedication to put this ordinary Oklahoma gal on their show. I don't catch the biggest fish, I don't harvest the biggest deer, and I don't always limit out on waterfowl, but I do LOVE the Oklahoma outdoors! 

I was raised to never be bored, and to take advantage of what creation has to offer. I spend ALL of my spare time outside doing something. I always have. This is my time to be with my family and to just be still. I am so thankful to the Wildlife Department and to the staff of Outdoor Oklahoma for letting me share some of my families' experiences with all of you!

"Outdoor Oklahoma" will open its 2015 television season Sunday with a program featuring Oklahoma City News 9 meteorologist Lacey Swope and her love of the outdoors. The premier episode will air at 8 a.m. Sunday, March 22 on OETA-The Oklahoma Network. It will also air at 7:30 p.m. Monday on KXOK-32 in Enid and KTEW-20 in Ponca City; and 9 p.m. Tuesday on KWEM-31 in the Stillwater/Perry area.
