Oklahoma City police released a cell phone video of a fight that ended with a man smashing a beer mug over another man's head. Police hope the video will help them identify those involved in the incident.
According to police, at about 1 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, officers responded to the report of someone being hit with a beer mug at Dust Bowl, located at 420 W. Park Place.
Officers spoke with the victim, who they said was "extremely intoxicated" at the time. The victim told police that someone followed him into the restroom and threw water on him. The victim confronted that person and they started fighting.
A cell phone video taken of the incident shows the victim and the other person fighting, throwing “uncontrollable windmill type” punches. Another man, who was standing nearby watching the fight, was hit with one of the punches. That man then shattered a beer mug on the victim's head.
The suspect who hit the victim with the beer mug then ran out of the business. He is described as a white male, about 22 to 26 years old, with dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a red jacket.
Police said the victim had a one-inch cut on the left side of his head. He refused treatment at the scene.
On Wednesday, March 4, police released the cell phone video of the assault, hoping to identify those involved in the attack.
