The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports 14 more people have died from influenza bringing the total number of deaths to 82 for this flu season.
In numbers for the week of February 4 to February 10, the OSDH reports the new flu deaths were in Cleveland, Lincoln, McClain, McIntosh, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Pottawatomie, Tulsa and Wagoner counties.
Oklahoma County has reported eight flu-related deaths since the beginning of the current flu season. For Wagoner County, their death was the first for the current flu season.
During the 2013-14 flu season, OSDH says the state recorded 72 deaths. The current flu season began on September 28, 2014.
Statewide, the OSDH reports 63 of the 82 flu-related deaths this season is residents 65 years of age or older.
