A woman and two children were killed in a two-vehicle collision in Stephens County, Oklahoma, Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at 4:13 p.m. on Pinto Road, just south of County Road 1830.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2014 Volkswagen Passat driven by 28-year-old Britanie Raschell Welty of Loco, Oklahoma, was northbound on the road when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason.
The car then crashed head-on into a 2011 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by 46-year-old Ronald Ollis of Velma, Oklahoma. The semi was southbound on the road at the time.
Both vehicles caught on fire following the collision. Welty and two passengers in her vehicle, a 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl, were all pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries.
Ollis was transported by Medi-Flight to OU Medical Center. He has been treated and released from the hospital.
Troopers listed the cause of crash as “left of center” in the OHP collision report. Welty's condition at the time of the crash is unclear.
