The first winter blast of the new year is already causing problems. One school in the Oklahoma City metro has canceled classes on Wednesday.
With these cold temps Wednesday morning, some parents are wondering about classes. As of right now, SeeWorth Academy is the only school closed in Oklahoma City.
Locust Grove Public Schools are closed Wednesday because of the cold weather. The Mayes County school district posted the announcement on its website,
"Due to extreme temperature conditions and wind chill factors anticipated tomorrow, Locust Grove Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, January 7, 2015. The majority of our students travel to school by bus, and as always the health and safety of our students is our number one concern. The plan as of now is to resume normal classes on Thursday."
Oklahoma City Schools says the district will be monitoring the conditions throughout the morning, and if classes are canceled at any school, they'll let parents know through multiple outlets including the media.

Some churches have already canceled services for Wednesday evening, including Calvary Missionary Baptist in Oklahoma City, and Garland Road Baptist in Enid.
Fire departments are warning of high fire dangers on Wednesday because of the wind and dry conditions. Wellston's Emergency Management posted on Facebook on Tuesday, " We have an over abundance of dead vegetation just waiting for an ignition source."
Fire officials said if you do burn brush piles on Wednesday, use extreme caution.
