The small town of Watonga has something in common with NFL bad boy, ‘Johnny Football.' The Cleveland Browns' quarterback became a patient of 1991 Watonga High School graduate Sean Cupp.
Cupp, who was valedictorian of his class, was recently named the Cleveland Browns' lead team doctor. Dr. Cupp graduated from Oklahoma University in 1995 and spent the past decade working in sports medicine for the University of Kansas.
Cupp's mother Doris said her son tells her the Browns' ‘Johnny Football' isn't a bad guy. “Of course I asked him that immediately because I'm a football momma and I love football and he said ‘Mom, he's as nice a young man as I ever met.'”
Doris Cupp retired from Watonga High School as a teacher.
Her son, Dr. Cupp, studied orthopedics under Dr. James Barrett at the McBride Clinic in Oklahoma City before he went to work at the University of Kansas.
