The countdown to the New Year is on and there's a lot going on downtown if you haven't made plans.
You can see the countdown and fireworks at Bicentennial Park. This is a new location from what you may remember from last year. But Opening Night coordinators promise it'll be a spectacular view.
Opening Night festivities kick off at 7 p.m. Wednesday. For $10 the whole family can enjoy the downtown block party with more than two dozen artist performing at various spots.
The event is from 4th to Reno and E. K. Gaylord to Shartel. Because of the block party, many downtown streets will be blocked off starting at 5 p.m. until 4 a.m. on New Year's Day.
Parts of Colcord, Park, Hudson, Walker are all part of those closures on New Year's Eve. Downtown area parking garages and lots will be open for the event.

In addition to the downtown party, the Thunder takes on the Suns at 7 p.m. Wednesday. So be patient and leave early.
Obviously, the worst way you can ring in the New Year is behind bars. If you have too much to drink, AAA is offering you a free ride home with its Tipsy Tow service.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said they will be cracking down on impaired driving over the New Year's holiday period.
