Police said they are investigating a deadly shooting after in N.W. Oklahoma City after a suspect broke into a family's home and the homeowner opened fire. It happened in the 2400 block of Moulton Drive, near N.W. 23rd Street and MacArthur Boulevard.

Several church members of Windsor Hills Baptist Church were on scene following the shooting. They told News 9 it was their pastor's home that was broken into while both the pastor and his son were inside.

Oklahoma City police said they got a call for an alarm sounding off around 3:15 Saturday afternoon and learned a suspect had broken into the home.

"The call came in from the son that his father had shot, someone had broken in the home, and later the suspect while trying to exit the home was deceased," said Staff Sgt. Billy Payne of the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Police haven't said if the suspect had any stolen property or a weapon on him and detectives have not said how many times the suspect was shot, but he was not transported to a hospital.

"The suspect was supposedly shot inside the home, I don't whether he passed away inside or outside the home," Payne said.

The home is directly across the street from Windsor Hills Baptist Church and is where the pastor and his family live.

Other than the suspect, no one else was hit or injured.

Church members said Sunday service at Windsor Hills Baptist Church should go on as normally scheduled.

Pastor Tom Vineyard has been there since 2007.
