Officer Involved Shooting In Norman

Emergency crews responded to an officer involved shooting in Norman Sunday morning.

Just after 11:30 a.m. a disturbance call was reported at 2440 Briggs Street.

Upon arrival, Norman Police Officers were informed the involved officer on scene announced shots had been fired. 

One male was shot multiple times. He was transported in critical condition to OU Med.

No officers were injured.

The identity of the male shot is not being released until next of kin is notified. 

The identity of the involved officer will not be released for at least 72 hours, as required by department policy.

The incident is under investigation.
