A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a pickup truck on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City, early Thursday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at about 5:15 a.m., troopers responded to the report of an auto-pedestrian accident in the eastbound lanes of I-40 near S. Morgan Road.
Authorities said the pedestrian, later identified as 58-year-old Richard Knight of Oklahoma City, was attempting to cross the interstate to the south when he was hit by the vehicle.
Knight was pronounced dead at the scene due to head, arm, leg, internal and external trunk injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Troopers listed the cause of the collision as "pedestrian action" in the OHP collision report.
