A judge in Carter County has set a $750,000 bond for a man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 7-year-old Ardmore girl.
An Amber Alert was issued for the missing girl Saturday night. Police received an anonymous tip Sunday morning and found the girl and her suspected kidnapper, 34-year-old Fount Duston, at his home in Marietta, Oklahoma.
Officers arrested Duston and booked him into the Carter County Jail on kidnapping and first-degree rape charges.
It is the first of several charges expected to be filed following the Nov. 8 incident.
Duston did not appear in person at the Carter County Courthouse but Judge Thomas Baldwin informed him of the charge filed against him during a video arraignment.
He is being held in isolation at the Carter County Jail.
The victim's father said that's where he should be, "People like that need to be put in jail," he said,"They shouldn't take someone's child away from them."
Duston, on the other hand, didn't have anything to say for himself or the kidnapping charge filed against him.
During the arraignment, he only said 'yes sir' when the judge asked if he understood that prosecutors are accusing him of kidnapping a 7 year old girl in Ardmore, Saturday.
"Anytime it involves children it is especially tough to deal with and that makes us more committed to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law " said Craig Ladd, Carter County District Attorney.
Ladd plans to file five additional charges in Love County this week, including two counts of rape and using a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Prosecutors allege Duston held the child captive and sexually assaulted her in his Marietta home in Love County.
She was rescued by Ardmore police on Sunday.
Still, the D.A. stayed tight-lipped about the investigation.
He would not get specific when asked if child pornography was recovered from Duston's home
and if it's possible Duston hurt other children.
"We are looking into things like that and that's one reason why I'm reluctant to release too much right now," said Ladd.
The victim's family also kept quiet following the hearing but the father of the victims made his opinions known the day his daughter was rescued.
"Children shouldn't have to go through that. If you do that to children you should be in the penitentiary on death row, that's just the way I see it," said the victim's father.
Duston's bond is set at 750,000.
If he posts bond there are some restrictions. He will be made to where a GPS monitoring device and must stay away from minors.
