The mother of a terminally ill John Marshall High School Freshman now faces a parent's biggest fear.
Kylenn Osborne, 15, has an enlarged heart. His health has deteriorated terribly in recent months. Doctors say he may have only a week or so left to live, because of medical complications, and he's in Hospice care.
John Marshall Principal Aspasia Carlson says even though Osborne has never been able to talk, his smile lights up a room, and has brought joy to his classmates and her staff members' lives. She says Osborne's mother is a single mother and will struggle mightily with funeral and burial costs.
“I don't think there is anything that could be more devastating,” she said from her office Wednesday.
John Davenport with Dignity Memorial Funeral Home, late Wednesday, told News 9 Dignity will step up and take care of this family in need. Friends of the family also recently established a gofundme account for Kylenn Osborne. It is at www.gofundme.com/angelkylenn
Principal Carlson added, “He's…just a joy to be around. And it affects everybody. It affects everybody when a child is sick like that. He really loves school.”
