An Oklahoma City bus trip turns scary for passengers as a man gets into an argument. The woman who recorded that video says the man was making threats, putting her in fear for her life.
News 9 talked that witness who says the man threatened to shoot and kill a fellow passenger who got up and moved when he sat down. Now, she's scared and requested we hide her face and alter her voice.
“I was just sitting back minding my business, and all of a sudden, the lady and the man started arguing, and the guy was getting irate,” said the passenger.
That passenger, who didn't want her identity revealed, says things started to get out of control fast.
Man: “You wanna die?”
Passenger: “Leave me alone!”
Man: “You wanna die right now?”
Passenger: “Leave me alone. Hey, can you get home off this bus?”
“Everybody on the bus is just freaking out. We're all screaming, ‘Get him off the bus! Get him off the bus! He's drunk!' She should have never let him on the bus,” said the woman.
A man, who passengers say was clearly drunk, barley made his way on the bus.
“He was calling her the ‘N' word, the ‘B' word, and she was like, ‘I don't even know you, leave me alone,'” she said.
“The police were called, as well as the route supervisors,” said EMBARK spokesperson, Michael Scroggins.
Scroggins says as far as he knows, there was no gun or any other weapons on the bus, but he says the transit system takes these situations seriously. He was told the driver even asked the two to separate.
“Safety is our first concern, and so one, we want to make sure that the operator is also safe,” said Scroggins. “So if they are comfortable with taking care of the situation themselves, we want to empower them to do so by asking them to get off the bus.”
After more than 15 minutes, and two stops later, the passenger says she's just thankful things didn't turn the other way.
“How do you know he didn't have a gun? We don't know that for sure,” said the woman.
Embark tells us there is a rider conduct and exclusion policy in place. Already this year, there have been a number of riders banned from riding the city's buses.
