Charges against an Oklahoma City man accused of strangling his girlfriend over a Facebook post, have been dismissed.

Oklahoma City police arrested Edward Noreuil in October 2014 after his live-in girlfriend claimed he grabbed her neck, put a gun up to her head and said, "I am going to kill you, I will blow your f***ing head off."

The girlfriend told police it involved her Facebook page and what she posted before she started dating Noreuil.

Noreuil was arrested on complaints of domestic abuse by strangulation and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

However, in June, the state filed a motion to dismiss the charges without prejudice.
