Authorities released the identity of the man who was shot Wednesday night and later died after an altercation at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex. Thursday evening, police said 45-year-old Sam Joe Hilter Neal was arrested in connection with the shooting.
According to court documents released Thursday, officers responded to a 911 call around 9:30 p.m. on October 1 at the Donita Apartments. On arrival, police said they found 23-year-old Nicholas Scott in the courtyard, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said Scott was transported to OU Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Court documents state the witnesses told detectives they heard an argument between the two men, saw the suspect fire a weapon and the victim fall to the ground. Police said the suspect was last seen running northwest from the scene.
