Governor Mary Fallin offered prayers to the families of the victims of Thursday's deadly attack at Vaughan Foods in Moore.
"I just encourage all of Oklahomans to be calm and say their prayers and to remember the lady that was lost," she said at an event Friday.
She also said now is the time to stay calm and let our justice system work.
Meanwhile, Joe Dorman, Democratic nominee for the governor's seat, released the following statement on the tragic incident yesterday in Moore:
"My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Vaughan Foods family, especially the families of the victims.
I commend Mark Vaughan on his quick decision to stop the man attacking his employees. His swift action undoubtedly saved the lives of many and is an unfortunate, but clear example of why I strongly support Oklahomans' Second Amendment rights. It's inherent to the safety and security of our citizens that we work to ensure something like this tragedy does not happen again."
