Police are robbery and kidnapping after being called to an incident at a Lawton Bank, Monday morning.
Police were first called out to the First National Bank in the 6700 block of NW Quanah Parker Trailway about a possible robbery. When officers arrived they were told that a customer was robbed while in a drive-thru lane at the bank.
While police were at the bank, another call came in regarding a person bound with tape in a car in the 1900 block of Crosby Park Blvd. When police responded to Crosby Park, they learned that the two calls were related.
Investigators believe the victim pulled up to the bank to make a deposit when the suspect got in the passenger side of the car with a gun. The suspect had the victim drive to Crosby Park where an undisclosed amount of money was taken from a bank bag the victim had. The suspect then bound the victim's hands with tape and taped a seatbelt around that person.
According to police, the suspect then fled the scene in a gold or brown 2-door cutlass-style vehicle. Police say the suspect is a male with brown hair, approximately 5'10” tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
Investigators are in the process of obtaining surveillance video from the bank and other evidence. No photos have been released at this time.
