OHP: Man Jumps Out Of Vehicle On I-40, Driver Doesn't Stop

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a 23-year-old Houston, Texas man died Friday evening after being injured in an incident off I-40 between Meridian and MacArthur in Oklahoma County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported 23-year-old Houston, Texas resident Charles Ray Foust died Friday evening after being injured in an incident off I-40 between Meridian and MacArthur in Oklahoma County.

Authorities say he exited a vehicle just after 5:30 p.m. for an unknown reason while riding westbound on I-40. The vehicle slowed as if it were stopping and then continued on. The passenger came to rest on the shoulder of I-40.

OHP reports the vehicle involved in the crash was driven by Carl Franklin Foust, Jr. The 51-year-old Oklahoma City resident was driving a 2008 Ford F66 wrecker. He was not injured in the incident. His driving condition at the time of the crash was listed as normal.

EMSA took the man to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in critical condition for internal, external, head and leg injuries. He later died.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
