Authorities Locate Pilot And Aircraft Near Okmulgee

<br/><p>According to the Oklahoma Wing of Civil Air Patrol, an aircraft has been located. Officials cannot confirm the aircraft is the one first reported missing Friday afternoon.</p><p></p>

According to the Oklahoma Wing of Civil Air Patrol, the aircraft first reported missing Friday afternoon has been located near Okmulgee. Authorities said the pilot was killed in an apparent plane crash off of Will Sampson Road.

The red, black and white Cessna 172, single-engine aircraft was first considered missing after the it failed to arrive at Tulsa's Riverside Airpark after departing from Fort Worth, Texas Friday afternoon. 

Pilot Gene Thompson of Southlake, Texas was the only passenger on that plane. Civil Air Patrol crews actively searched for this airplane from both the ground and air.
