A suspect posted bail and is now released from the Oklahoma County Jail after law enforcement officials said he threw out a beer can, hitting a deputy's car last week. The 46-year-old man was reportedly showing “signs of being inebriated” inside his vehicle on Thursday, September 4 around 5 p.m.
An off-duty Oklahoma County deputy continued to follow the car while calling dispatch. Timothy Wayne Vasquez eventually stopped at a convenience store at S.E. 66th and I-35.
The driver admitted to drinking beer while driving and did not have a driver's license. The deputy said he had an open container of beer in the vehicle, as well.
Authorities booked Vasquez on complaints of driving under the influence of alcohol, transporting an open container, driving with a suspended license and defective equipment.
Vasquez posted his $4,000 bail and walked out of jail on Sept. 6.
