Crews Recover Drowning Victim's Body In Broken Bow Lake

Emergency crews have recovered the body of a man who drowned in the Broken Bow Lake in McCurtain County.

Emergency crews have recovered the body of a man who drowned in the Broken Bow Lake in McCurtain County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 34-year-old Eric Anderson of Bogata, Texas, drowned at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Broken Bow Lake, north of the “D” boat ramp.

Troopers said Anderson was floating on a foam pool noodle when he fell off for an unknown reason. He then went under the water and never resurfaced.

At 12:20 p.m. Monday, crews recovered Anderson's body in about 18 feet of water, 50 yards north of the boat ramp.

Authorities said they used side scan radar and drag operation to recover the victim's body.
