The University of Central Oklahoma's Volunteer and Service Learning Center plans to commemorate the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with a series of activities, including a remembrance ceremony.

After next Thursday's ceremony, UCO students, faculty and staff will plant about 3,000 American flags in the ground around Broncho Lake on the school's Edmond campus in remembrance of the men and women who lost their lives on Sept. 11.

Later that day, UCO students will prepare spaghetti dinners and deliver cards to local firehouses, handwritten by members of the university's community.
