Oklahoma schools are coming under tighter federal regulations again because the legislature repealed the Common Core standards without new standards in place. Here's what you had to say.

Jessica first: "They got in a hurry because election time is around the bend and they wanted people to say, 'They got rid of Common Core'."

Pat writes: "The damage heaped upon our kids and the costs to our citizens is totally the result of those at the state Capitol who want to play politics instead of tend to the state's real business."

Mike thinks it's a good thing: "Local control in education limits concerns and discussions to LOCAL issues. Lack of pipelines to exchange ideas beyond one's own community makes improvements difficult."

I think some of you are missing the point.

Garry from Seminole says: "Federal Money; Federal control. Do your 'homework' next time!"

And Parker adds: "You have no business telling the Government what to do, with money they give us!! That goes for you too KELLY OGLE!!"

MONEY THEY GIVE US??!! We gave it to them and they are accountable to us for how they spend it!

Julie says: "…the Common Core State Standards are GREAT standards and will increase student learning. It's the heavy emphasis on testing that is the problem."

And finally from Joellen: "This isn't about the feds coming in and taking control, but is about the consequences of not following the rules."

I think it's both.

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
