A McLoud man died when he wrecked his semi-truck in Oklahoma County, Saturday morning.
It happened at 11:11 a.m. Saturday on southbound Interstate 35, between N.E. 36th and 50th Streets.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 49-year-old Michael D. Ross was driving a 2015 Freightliner on southbound I-35 when he drifted to the right and struck the bridge wall, entered into a broad slide and department the roadway to the right.
OHP said the semi overturned one quarter time onto the driver’s side, struck an exit sign and a tree, and then came to rest against the tree.
The collision report states Ross was trapped under the steering wheel and dash and was removed by the Oklahoma City Fire Department. It also states a seatbelt was not in use.
OHP said Ross was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision, and the cause of the collision and the condition of the driver are both under investigation.
