A flier from a local republican fundraising event is gaining national attention. The advertisement combines Governor Mary Fallin's name along with a very controversial group. Organizers are trying to clear up confusion while Democrats pour on the criticism.

That flier in question is for a local GOP bean feed event. It mentions the governor as a guest speaker but also mentions the Ku Klux Klan and that's what's causing controversy.

It advertises a fundraising event for the Garvin County Republican Party, including a discussion with fellow conservatives about the NRA, Planned Parenthood and the Ku Klux Klan.

Fallin's press secretary, Alex Weintz, issued the following statement regarding this story:

"Governor Fallin was never confirmed to speak at the Garvin County event. She is not attending or speaking. Neither the governor nor her staff ever approved the flier in question or have even seen it before today. She would not ever attend an event that included a discussion on the KKK."
