Suspect Charged For Rape, Murder In The Village

Officials have charged the man believed to be responsible for raping and murdering a woman in The Village in June.

Police arrested Albert Johnson on Friday, June 13 for the crime. The attack happened in the 2900 block of Lakeside Dr., between Sunrise Blvd. and Northland Rd.

Police responded after getting a 911 call from a woman, who lived inside of the home. When they arrived they found two female victims suffering from blunt force injuries and stab wounds.

One of the women, now identified as 24-year-old Rachel Rogers, died from her injuries.

Johnson is charged with multiple crimes related to this incident, including first-degree murder, assault and battery, rape and kidnapping.
