The University of Oklahoma and UTEP have agreed to play two future football games at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Oklahoma will host the Miners in Norman on Sept. 2, 2017 and on Sept. 3, 2022.
The Sooners already have non-conference contests against Big Ten Conference foes for each of those seasons. Oklahoma will travel to Ohio State in 2017 after hosting the Buckeyes in 2016. Oklahoma will also visit Nebraska in 2022 after hosting the Cornhuskers in 2021.
Oklahoma holds a 4-0 advantage in its all-time series against UTEP, most recently registering a 24-7 win in El Paso in 2012. The Sooners also posted home victories against the Miners in 2000 and 2002.
As a reminder to fans, dates for all future non-conference games are subject to change based on television partners' request or if mutually agreed upon by both teams.
Lineman Transferring
Offensive lineman Kyle Marrs has been granted his release and will transfer from the school according to multiple media reports.
Marrs, a 3-star recruit from San Antonio, Texas, played in 10 games last year after redshirting the 2012 season.
