Canadian County sheriff's deputies arrested a man in connection with the burglary of a business in El Reno.
David Allen Scott, 56, of Mustang was arrested at his home and taken into custody. Investigators connected Scott to the burglary of Bomhak Trucking, located at 5808 North Ridge just north of El Reno in rural Canadian County.
Business owner Gary Bomhak reported the burglary on February 10. Investigators believe burglars busted out a window in the building and then crawled through it to gain access. However, during the process of crawling through the window, Scott cut his hand, leaving blood at the scene. Sheriff's Deputies were able to collect a sample of the dried blood which was sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for analysis.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Scott's house and found a number of stolen items including automotive parts, as well as narcotics. Deputies say Scott had a wound on his hand, and told him they collected DNA evidence from the scene. Investigators say Scott then confessed to the crime.
Scott was transported to the Canadian County Jail and he was booked on charges of burglary in the second degree, possession of stolen property and operating a chop shop. Scott remains in jail on a $26,000 bond.
