Lockdown Lifted At SWOSU After Reports Of Gunman On Campus

School officials confirm that a lockdown has been lifted at the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, Monday morning.

The campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, was under a lockdown for more than an hour Monday morning as police searched for a possible gunman on campus.

According to a SWOSU Campus Alert, the SWOSU campus was placed under a lockdown as a precaution at about 10 a.m. after someone reported seeing a man with a gun on campus.

News 9 received multiple calls from parents who were hearing that a man with a gun was in the Campbell building on campus.

Police searched the Campbell building for the reported gunman. It is unclear if they found anyone with a weapon

The lockdown was lifted at about 11:15 a.m. Officers remain on campus as a precautionary measure.
