One Arrested In Man's Shooting Death In Lawton

Lawton police have arrested a suspect who is accused of shooting and killing a man Saturday night.

According to police, at about 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the Dew Drop Inn at 1804 N.W. Ft. Sill Blvd.

When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 35-year-old Samuel Ruffin, lying in the parking lot suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Ruffin was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, initial stories indicate that the victim was having an argument with his girlfriend when the suspect intervened and shot him. Multiple shell casings have been found at the scene, as well as what is believed to be the murder weapon.

Police have arrested the suspect, 44-year-old Bryan Dutton.

This is Lawton's eighth homicide of the year.
