The Oklahoma City RedHawks scored seven runs in the first two innings and held on for an 11-9 win Tuesday night at Colorado Springs.
The RedHawks led 8-1 before the Sky Sox scored two in the sixth and five in the seventh, but OKC answered back with two in the ninth to seal the victory.
Colorado Springs outhit Oklahoma City 16-12 in a wild ball game. Each team committed two errors.
Michael Foltynewicz (1-1) earned the win for OKC, pitching five innings and allowing one run. Christian Friedrich (0-2) took the loss for Colorado Springs, allowing eight runs (five earned) in five innings.
George Springer's second-inning grand slam highlighted the scoring for OKC. Max Stassi and Domingo Santana added two RBI each for the RedHawks.
Oklahoma City (9-4) is back in action on Wednesday afternoon at 12:05 p.m. in Colorado Springs.
