News 9 has learned DNA has been collected from several people at the Oklahoma County jail.

Those samples could tell authorities who was involved in the deadly shooting in Midwest City last summer. That deadly shooting took place last September.

Since then, six people have been locked up in the Oklahoma County jail connected to the crime. Now, all six have been swabbed for their DNA, to see which ones match with DNA collected at the scene.

According to court papers, a DNA profile was obtained from the screen door handle of the home where the deadly shooting occurred - and appears to be mixture of at least three people.

A full DNA profile was also obtained from the interior of a ski mask found. Now, forensic investigators will be comparing them to the DNA of all six of the suspects, to see which one of them is a match.

Those same court papers reveal that five of the people in custody admitted to some involvement in the robbery turned murder, which resulted in the death of 39-year-old Shirley Burris.

"It didn't have to come to that, it didn't have to come to that," said Kalvin Murray, Burris' boyfriend.

He talked with us days after the deadly shooting happened and court papers reveal he was the intended target of the robbery, not her.

Court papers reveal four people have confessed to their part in the robbery, but all four claim they did not fire the deadly shot.

"If they had asked me, I would have let them have it," said Murray. "I would have gladly let them have it, to have Shirley back."

The search warrant states Jarvis Jones is the man suspected of pulling the trigger. His partner, Demarkus Long, has admitted their involvement in the crime,  but says Jones is the one who panicked and shot Butler during the botched robbery.

Search warrants also reveal Long told police where those guns could be found and even helped police recover them. The search warrants also reveal there had been a robbery at Murray's house several weeks before but that it had not been reported to police because it involved drugs.

Right now, Ashlee Craig, Raven Craig, Jarvis Jones and Demarkus Long are all being held without bond facing murder, robbery and conspiracy charges. Both Aron Gaines and Justin Woody are being held on drug related charges.
