An Edmond grandfather is brutally attacked in his home. Now, police are looking for his 14-year-old granddaughter who was there for the assault.
Edmond Police say they are concerned for the welfare of the girl and that's why they are looking for her. They say she arrived and left with the men who put her grandfather in the hospital.
Police say 14-year-old Jade Willman was a witness as four men beat up and robbed her 64-year-old grandfather inside an Edmond Condo around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.
"It's horrible, nothing like this could ever happen or should ever happen," said the girl's grandmother on Monday.
So horrible, the woman says she's afraid for anyone to see her face or know where she lives. Police say she woke up to find her husband being beaten.
"They were holding her at gunpoint with a pistol they brought in, they were kicking him in the face and the ribs to the point where he was unconscious," said Edmond Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Monroe.
The grandmother says she took guardianship of Willman and three other siblings five years ago. Neighbors say it hasn't been easy, especially when it came to Jade.
"She's the one that has kind of ran away and been on the streets of Edmond," said Angela Lobodo who has lived next door since the children were little.
Police say the four suspects stole a wallet and cell phone and then left with Jade in a white minivan.
"We want to know the situation, what led up to this, what happened," said Monroe. "Mainly how we can help her and get her out of this situation."
There is a crimestoppers reward for information on Jade's whereabouts. The tip line is 405-359-4466.
The 64-year old grandfather is currently in good condition.
