Police and fire investigators are looking for a man who allegedly left four children alone in a garage that caught fire early Monday morning.
The garage on Northwest 29th Street was a temporary home for the family of six.
The mother of the children, who was also gone at the time of the fire, told investigators the kids' father was supposed to be there with them.
The youngest child is 11-months old. The oldest is six.
The residents in the front house of the detached garage were the first to wake up around 3:30 a.m. and report the fire. They said they heard the kids crying outside.
Arson investigators are on the scene trying to figure out how the fire started. DHS has also been called to the scene to investigate the incident.
The children were not injured. They have been released to their mother's custody.
