Grass Fire Sparks Up In Northwest Edmond

Crews responded to a grass fire on the northwest side of Edmond, Thursday afternoon.

Edmond Firefighters were called to the scene, in the 600 block of NW 193^rd St., near Covell Rd. and Western Ave.

It appears the fire started as a controlled burn, but winds carried sparks into the brush nearby and a small fire ensued.

Once firefighters arrived on scene they quickly contained the fire without incident. No one was injured and no structures were threatened by the fire.
