OU, OSU Bowl Games Boost Oklahoma Economy

Victory is sweet for OU fans. Thursday night, the Sooners rolled on the Crimson Tide, beating Alabama 45 to 31. That's got Oklahomans buzzing with excitement and rushing to get their school gear.

Two big Oklahoma teams, two big bowl games, leave more than just the fans cheering. If you're in the sports bar business, this is great. If you're in t-shirt printing business, it's great.

Two big bowls, OU in one, OSU in the other, are on back-to-back nights. It's a guarantee for two busy nights at sports bars and there's no complaining here.

Ed Lynn says sports bars bring the atmosphere of the game to fans who can't be there. And winning means even better business.

OU fans lined up to welcome the Sooners home. Many decked out in Oklahoma gear, some of it, brand spanking new.

Immediately after the win, OU fans flooded House of Bedlam for Sugar Bowl victory gear. They're hoping for another mad rush after a Cowboys win at the Cotton Bowl.

House of Bedlam says the addition of two hometown teams making bowl appearances and winning on top of their bedlam rivalry could push sales, making this year the best in the last five.
