Police are looking for a burglary suspect who shot himself before running away from the scene in El Reno, Friday afternoon.

Police are looking for a burglary suspect who shot himself before running away from the scene in El Reno, Friday afternoon.

It happened at about 4 p.m. in the 100 block of North "L" Street. According to police, the suspect, later identified as 23-year-old Jake Blurton, went up to the victim and tried to steal prescription pills.

The two got into an altercation when the victim said he didn't have any pills. Blurton reportedly then pulled out a gun. The victim and Blurton struggled over the gun and it went off, striking Blurton in the leg.

The victim was struck by the gun during the fight, but was not shot.

Blurton fled the scene following the incident.

Blurton is described as an Indian man who stands 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighs about 140 pounds. He had short black hair, and was last seen wearing a gray striped shirt.
