News 9 former Chief Meteorologist Gary England received an award from the Oklahoma City/County Historical Society.

Gary, who is now the Vice President of Corporate Relations and Weather Development at Griffin Communications, was honored with the "Pathmaker Award" from the Oklahoma City/County Historical Society on Tuesday.

This award recognizes those who contributed in a tangible way to the overall development of the community. The board of directors with the organization voted unanimously to induct Gary.

Gary saved countless lives during 41 years of broadcasting.
